Overview: Montebelo Golfe, located near Viseu in central Portugal, is a premier 27-hole facility set in a spectacular mountainous landscape between the Serra da Estrela and Serra do Caramulo ranges. The Buçaco Route (typically combining the 19-27 loop with the 1-9 loop) offers a technical and scenic challenge through dense pine and oak forests. Designed by Mark Stilwell and Malcolm Kenyon, the course features significant elevation changes and numerous doglegs that reward strategic placement over raw distance.
Did You Know? Because of its high-altitude location, Montebelo is famous for its crisp, clean air and the dramatic views of the surrounding granite peaks. The facility expanded from 18 to 27 holes in 2007 to accommodate its growing reputation as a central hub for mountain golf, offering some of the most peaceful and secluded rounds in the country, far removed from the busier coastal resorts.
