Overview: Le Géant is Mont-Tremblant’s mountainside 18-hole course, designed by Thomas McBroom in 1995. The current Tremblant course page lists par 72 and 6,717 yards from the longest tees. The layout is carved into the Laurentian slopes, using elevated plateaus, white-sand bunkers, water and wide mountain views to create a course where visual distraction is part of the challenge. It is a separate public routing from Le Diable, with a different architect and a more overtly mountainous form.
History: Le Géant was developed as part of Mont-Tremblant’s golf and resort expansion in the 1990s. Thomas McBroom’s design uses the hillside rather than flattening it, and the operator describes the course as an 18-hole championship layout with its own seasonal opening period. The nearby Le Diable opened from a different design team and uses a different set of strategic features, so the two profiles should not be blended into one resort course.
Did You Know? Le Géant’s name is a direct reference to scale: the fairways and greens are cut into mountain plateaus, while the Laurentian landscape remains visible around the holes. The 18th, known in current Tremblant material as a signature finishing hole, asks for concentration with the mountain and resort in view. The course’s defining hazard is often the changing lie and elevation rather than a single water feature.
