Overview: Le Diable is an 18-hole championship course at Mont-Tremblant, Québec, designed by Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry in 1998. The current resort record lists par 71 and 7,003 yards from the longest tees. Long narrow fairways, red-sand bunkers and the Laurentian forest give the course its particular playing character, while the natural relief creates several changes in elevation. The course is public and belongs to the Tremblant golf operation, but it is a separate routing from Le Géant and Le Maître.
History: Le Diable was created during Mont-Tremblant’s development as a four-season destination. The name comes from the Rivière Diable that runs through the region, and the 1998 design by Hurdzan and Fry established a course that used waste-style red sand and natural forest rather than a conventional resort parkland template. The operator’s current course page confirms the original designers, opening year, 18-hole identity and tee specifications.
Did You Know? The red-sand bunkers are the visual signature of Le Diable, but the course’s name is equally geographic: it follows the region’s Devil’s River rather than an invented theme. The long, narrow fairways make the correct side of the hole important before the approach begins. A player who treats the course as a simple mountain drive-and-pitch layout will often find the second shot more demanding than the scorecard suggests.
