Overview: Hilltop is Mollymook Golf Club’s inland 18-hole course, set above the beach town on the NSW South Coast. The course is shaped through rolling coastal country with broad views, native vegetation and enough elevation change to make the approach angles matter. It complements the club’s Beachside course with a more spacious, hill-country experience. Golfers staying in Mollymook or Ulladulla can use Hilltop as a full visitor round, with the setting providing the strongest first impression before the strategic character of the holes takes over.
History: Ken McKay Snr designed the Hilltop course. The first nine holes were laid out in 1973, followed by the clubhouse and completed 18-hole course in 1977. Mollymook’s current masterplan records later work and continuing improvement, so the course is best understood as an established layout that has evolved rather than a frozen historic design.
Did You Know? Hilltop’s name is a useful guide to the experience: the course is not simply another beachside loop. Its higher ground creates views toward the coast and changes the way wind and elevation affect club selection, especially when the round turns back toward the clubhouse.
