Overview: Tiffin, Ohio’s Mohawk Golf & Country Club combines a Donald Ross original nine with a later expansion into a full 18-hole parkland layout. Rolling ground, tree-lined holes, water and classic green contours give the private club a layered architectural character.
History: Mohawk was incorporated in 1919, and Donald Ross’s original nine opened for play in 1921. A second nine by Fred Garbin dates from 1970, after which the 18-hole configuration took shape; Brian Huntley later prepared a restoration plan to recover Ross-like character.
Did You Know? Mohawk’s current 18 holes represent two different design eras. The original Ross nine and Garbin expansion are joined into one course but retain a layered architectural history.
