Overview: Modry Las Golf Club occupies a broad, wooded landscape in northwestern Poland, where Gary Player's design moves between forest, meadow and lakes. The 18-hole course uses the natural scenery as more than a backdrop: water and changing ground shape the lines into greens, while the mixture of open and enclosed holes keeps the round moving through different visual moods. The layout is a strategic parkland course with enough width to invite confident play, but with approach shots that demand careful control around its undulating greens and hazards.
History: The owners bought the land in 1993 to protect the scenery near their ancestral home, then invited Gary Player to turn the property into a golf course. Player officially opened the 18-hole championship course in 2009. Modry Las later grew into a golf resort with a nine-hole par-3 course, accommodation, practice facilities and a clubhouse, while keeping the original landscape at the centre of the experience.
Did You Know? Modry Las was planned as a family project before it became a recognised golf resort. The owners first acquired the land to safeguard its landscape, then used that same natural setting as the reason to ask Gary Player to design the course. The result is a rare case in which conservation of a family landscape directly led to the creation of a major golf venue.
