Overview: Miyazaki Country Club presents 18 seaside holes to a par of 72 through natural pine woodland near Miyazaki Airport. The current course guide totals 6,558 yards from the back tees. Its fairways are separated by coastal trees, and the native landscape gives the holes a quiet, strategic character that contrasts with the open resort feel of nearby Miyazaki courses.
History: The club opened in 1960, the first golf course established in Miyazaki Prefecture according to its official introduction, and credits Noriyuki Miyoshi with the design. The club’s history records a nine-hole opening in October 1960 followed by completion of the full 18 in June 1961. It later became the long-running home of the JLPGA Tour Championship Ricoh Cup.
Did You Know? Every hole carries a plant name, including pine, palm and yucca references. That naming tradition mirrors the course’s design, where the native coastal vegetation is not just background scenery but the natural structure that separates and frames the holes.
