Overview: At 6,648 yards, the course carries par 72 over its 18-hole route, and Hideyo Sugimoto is credited with course supervision. Its character comes from variety rather than a single visual theme. Fairways rise and fall across the site, individual holes present different shapes and the approach angles change enough to reward players who plan from the tee. The single-round challenge is to read the land before choosing the aggressive line.
History: Mito opened on 10 July 1997. The club's own material describes a deliberate attempt to bring the atmosphere of an English country estate to the course, combining a hill layout with a manor-house style clubhouse and an open outlook. That architectural setting is part of the club's identity, but the current course facts remain clear: the golf is the 18-hole Toyokawa routing at Kagoda, not another Mito-named facility elsewhere in Japan.
Did You Know? The club's stated design brief was to recreate the atmosphere of an English country estate, pairing the hill course with a manor-house style clubhouse and an open outlook. That choice gives Mito a distinct architectural identity within Aichi, while the golf remains grounded in the natural rises and changing forms of the Toyokawa site.
