Overview: Founded in 1932, Miramar Golf Club is one of the oldest and most traditional courses in Portugal, offering a rare and authentic links experience on the Atlantic coast south of Porto. Designed by the renowned Philip Mackenzie Ross and later updated by Howard Swan, the 9-hole layout (usually played as 18) is a rustic, seaside course featuring sand dunes, sea breezes, and natural coastal topography. It is a founding member of the Portuguese Golf Federation and retains an atmosphere of classic, old-world golf that is increasingly hard to find in modern resort developments.
Did You Know? The course is famous for its exposure to the "Nortada" (northern wind), which can drastically change the difficulty of the flat fairways from one hour to the next. The 9th hole is a particularly challenging finishing par-4 that borders the beach, requiring players to navigate the wind and the shore-side dunes to reach a green that sits just yards from the Atlantic waves.
