Overview: Minnehaha Country Club follows the Big Sioux River in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The parkland setting includes mature trees, river crossings, and changing ground, while the Langford and Moreau design gives the holes a compact, strategic rhythm.
History: The club began with nine holes in 1905, moved to its present property in the 1910s, and expanded to 18 holes in 1921. William B. Langford and Theodore Moreau directed the 18-hole work, and Graham Marsh later contributed to improvements after flooding and river-management concerns.
Did You Know? Minnehaha's early 18-hole course used the first grass greens in South Dakota, according to the local historical marker. The course's river setting also makes crossings and flood protection part of its continuing story.
