Overview: Mountainview is the current 18-hole championship routing at Mimosa Plus in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. It is listed at par 72 and about 7,237 yards, with rolling ground, mature trees, lakes and large green complexes shaping the round. The course has a strong woodland character, but its position beside the former Clark Air Base and the surrounding foothills gives it more historical and visual depth than a generic tree-lined layout. Modern playing surfaces and revised bunkering are part of its current presentation.
History: The Mimosa complex was built on Clark Field in the 1990s after the area changed from a former American air base into a freeport zone. Reporting on the 2024 reopening says the original development opened in stages, then underwent a major masterplan and course rebuild after Filinvest took over in 2016. Nelson & Haworth oversaw the later work, including new irrigation, green expansion and regrassing. That staged history is why the present Mountainview routing is not assigned a simplistic original opening year.
Did You Know? The renovation team chose to retain the large mimosa trees that form the backbone of the course's character. The rebuild also added a modern irrigation system and encouraged native zoysia across parts of the property, tying the playing surface to the site's ecological setting. A 2025 course article records Tiger Woods playing Mountainview in 1998, another small link between the old Clark-era course and its present identity.
