Overview: Milnerton is a flat coastal course between the Atlantic Ocean and the Diep River, only a short drive north of central Cape Town. The 18-hole, par-72 layout measures about 6,101 metres and uses sea breeze, lagoon edges and seven water holes to create its challenge. There are relatively few trees, so the exposed setting makes trajectory and distance control more important than shelter.
History: Milnerton Golf Club began with six holes in 1913 and gradually evolved into the championship course seen today. Golf Data is associated with the current course design, which retains the character of the coastal ground while adding strategic water and green-side features. The course’s public transport access also makes it unusually convenient for visitors staying in Cape Town.
Did You Know? The opening and finishing holes share what is effectively a double fairway, and crossing the 18th fairway is allowed from the first. That creates a rare visual relationship between the beginning and end of a round, with both holes occupying the same broad strip of coastal ground.
