Overview: Mill River Golf Course is a mature forest 18-hole parkland course in western Prince Edward Island. Robbie Robinson’s layout uses wide rolling fairways, bunkered greens, subtle elevation changes and a network of lakes and streams to keep the round varied. The resort lists five tee options, with a 6,840-yard, par-72 back reference, but the course’s identity is more about changing lies and green positions than raw length.
History: Construction took place between 1969 and 1970 under Robbie Robinson’s direction. Robinson later designed the 18th hole and practice green, while Graham Cooke made a series of substantial changes between 1992 and 1996, including six new greens. Those layers give Mill River a useful blend of classic parkland structure and later Canadian design intervention.
Did You Know? Mill River asks players to use every club in the bag because the routing combines left- and right-moving tee shots, uneven approach lies and greenside mounding. The 18th is especially notable because it was designed by Robinson as a later addition, giving the finish a direct connection to the course’s original architectural story.
