Overview: Milford Haven Golf Club is a rolling parkland course at Hubberston overlooking the Cleddau Estuary and the Milford Haven waterway. The official course page describes a traditional nine-out, nine-back layout, and the current profile is 6,067 yards and par 70. The routing uses the shape of the ground rather than a resort-style sequence of manufactured hazards. Trees, small water features, changing lies and the estuary outlook give the holes a distinctly Pembrokeshire character, while the course remains approachable enough for a wide range of golfers. The closing stretch includes the named Fountain View eighteenth, and several holes carry names that reflect the local landscape, including The Gales, Church Tower and Orchard. Milford Haven is best understood as a community parkland course with a strong waterside setting.
History: Milford Haven was first established as a nine-hole course in 1913 by George Humble, a professional from Llandrindod Wells. The present eighteen-hole form followed in 1933, a distinction preserved in the course's ranking history and important when interpreting the 1913 date in the profile. The club's clubhouse was built in 1910 and the club has continued to welcome visiting golfers throughout its long local history. In 2019, architect Marc Westenborg oversaw changes to the eighteenth hole after a housing development created safety constraints, shortening and reshaping the finish while retaining its role as the final hole beside the waterway.
Did You Know? The club's hole names read like a small map of the surrounding area. The seventeenth is called Church Tower, while the eighteenth is Fountain View, and the official course map places both in the final return toward the clubhouse and the estuary outlook.
