Overview: Located a short distance north of Oslo, Miklagard Golfklubb is a premier, championship-standard parkland facility widely regarded as one of Norway's finest courses. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course is set across a dramatic, rolling landscape, featuring bold, artistic bunkering, wide fairways, and massive, multi-tiered greens. The layout is exceptionally long and challenging from the championship tees, demanding both power and precise course management.
History: Opened in 2002, Miklagard was designed with the explicit goal of bringing world-class championship golf to Norway. The course quickly gained international recognition, playing host to multiple European Challenge Tour events and establishing a reputation for its flawless, premier tournament-level conditioning and fast, undulating greens.
Did You Know? The club draws its name and thematic branding from the Viking era; "Miklagard" was the old Norse name for Constantinople (now Istanbul), and many holes are named after Norse gods and historic Viking kings.
