Overview: GDO records a 6,688-yard total, par 72 and one bent green on the 18-hole routing, while the operator describes a layout intended to suit a broad range of players. The route mixes generous movement with demanding approach decisions. Bunkers and water are frequent enough to make position matter, yet the fairways do not force every golfer into the same strategy. A solid tee ball followed by a well-planned iron is the natural way to experience the layout.
History: Mikawa opened on 3 November 1998. The design credits separate the overall supervision of Yuji Kawamura from the course supervision of Teruo Sugihara, a distinction preserved here rather than compressing both roles into one name. The active club remains at the Toyosaka address in Shinshiro and is presented by the current operator as part of a continuing golf operation, not as a resort routing that has changed identity.
Did You Know? Current GDO course data counts 76 bunkers and water on 10 holes, an unusually clear snapshot of how the design creates pressure without relying only on length. The course also uses a single bent green, so the putting surface is a shared strategic target throughout the round rather than one of two alternate green systems.
