Overview: Mid-Pacific Country Club is a private Honolulu course in Kāneʻohe, set on 163 acres between tropical vegetation, kiawe forest, palms and the Koʻolau Mountains. The routing uses windward greenery and rolling ground rather than a seaside resort template. From the back tees it measures 6,784 yards, with the mountain wall remaining a constant visual reference.
History: The club dates to 1926 and began with plans by Seth Raynor. The first phase contained eight holes; a ninth joined the routing in 1928. Willard Wilkinson designed the back nine in 1948 and 1949, creating the combined course that the club presents today.
Did You Know? Mid-Pacific’s course is a layered design rather than the work of one date and one architect. Raynor’s early holes and Wilkinson’s later back nine are both part of the current identity, which explains the club’s unusual architectural lineage.
