Overview: Dayton’s Miami Valley Golf Club occupies rolling ground with a strong connection to the region’s early golf history. Donald Ross shaped the private par-71 layout to use the land’s movement and green contours, rewarding thoughtful positioning.
History: The Kidders assembled the property and persuaded Donald Ross to visit Dayton; the club opened in 1919 with Ross’s design. The surrounding land also carries older history, including a treaty connection and a former farming and church use.
Did You Know? The original course plan was first laid out on a blackboard and later reduced to paper; the club says that plan still hangs outside the foyer.
