Overview: Metairie Country Club is a Seth Raynor design on a compact New Orleans site shaped by mature trees, broad fairway corridors, and strategic green complexes. Its holes draw on Raynor’s template tradition, giving the course a recognizable architectural vocabulary without losing its connection to the Louisiana landscape.
History: The club was formed in 1922 and commissioned Seth Raynor for the course, with Joe Bartholomew carrying out the construction work. The layout was developed between 1922 and 1925, later restored toward Raynor’s design in 2003, and repaired after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Did You Know? Metairie’s holes were modeled on celebrated American and Scottish examples, including Raynor templates that give the course its distinctive strategic structure.
