Overview: Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3 is a large-scale parkland layout whose identity comes from Tom Bendelow’s original routing and successive championship renovations. The course works through rolling ground and mature trees, with broad fairways leading to demanding approach angles and varied green complexes.
History: Course No. 3 opened in 1928 after Tom Bendelow designed Medinah’s three courses in the club’s formative years. Rees Jones later reshaped the layout, and OCM Golf later carried out a major redesign while retaining the course’s place in the club’s tournament history.
Did You Know? Medinah No. 3 has hosted three U.S. Opens, two PGA Championships, and the 2012 Ryder Cup, giving the course one of the deepest major-event records in American golf.
