Overview: McArthur’s FrontYard is a private Hobe Sound course by Tom Fazio and Nick Price, built through sandy ground, exposed white sand and native vegetation. The layout uses the natural contrasts of South Florida rather than a flat, water-dominated resort aesthetic, with firm surfaces and strategic angles shaping the play.
History: The FrontYard was completed in 2002 and became the original eighteen-hole course at McArthur Golf Club. Its design was developed around the site’s sand ridge, wetlands and easements, with Fazio and Price creating a course intended for walking and private member play.
Did You Know? McArthur now has a separate BackYard course by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Keeping the FrontYard label in the profile is important because the two routings have different architects and different landscape settings.
