Overview: Maui Country Club is a compact nine-hole loop in Spreckelsville, with flat fairways, trade-wind exposure and a long relationship with the former sugar landscape of north Maui. The official club material describes the routing as playable twice for a full round. Its appeal comes from walkable scale, open ground and the changing wind through the cane-country plain.
History: The club was founded in 1925 after Maui golfers worked with the Hawaii Commercial and Sugar Company to create a course in Spreckelsville. It opened ceremonially on July 3, 1927, with design work associated with Alex Bell and William McKewan. The club later renovated the facility while retaining its historic nine-hole identity.
Did You Know? Maui Country Club is the oldest Maui course still in operation according to the club’s history. Its location also preserves a direct link to the island’s sugar era, because the original course was graded through former cane fields.
