Martis Camp Club

Overview: Martis Camp is a private mountain course in Truckee, California, set among ponderosa pines and the broad Martis Valley. Tom Fazio’s routing uses the forest, open meadows and changes in elevation to create a varied alpine round, with the high-country setting visible on many holes.

History: The course opened in 2008 as the golf centerpiece of the Martis Camp community. Its design and maintenance program were developed for a sensitive mountain environment, with the club later hosting national amateur competition on the same forested routing.

Did You Know? Martis Camp hosted the 2023 U.S. Senior Amateur. The club’s history also describes a turf program using Kentucky bluegrass to reduce water use and erosion, an important consideration at a high-elevation course.
