Overview: Marcus Pointe Golf Club is an 18-hole public course at 2500 Oak Pointe Drive in Pensacola. The current club describes Earl Stone's design as a classic course on 600 acres of rolling woodland, while the published scorecard gives the layout par 72 and about 6,650 yards from the back tees. The setting combines wooded corridors with the broad scale of a Gulf Coast public course.
History: Marcus Pointe opened in 1990 as a residential golf facility and soon became part of Pensacola's tournament history. The Pensacola Classic, then a Nike Tour event, was played at Marcus Pointe in 1991 and 1992. The current operator continues to credit Earl Stone and describes the club as a course with professional instruction and casual dining.
Did You Know? Marcus Pointe hosted two consecutive Pensacola Classic editions: Stephen Ames won in 1991 and Rick Dalpos won in 1992. Those events put the Pensacola course on the schedule of the tour that preceded today's Korn Ferry Tour.
