Overview: Manhattan Woods Golf Club is a private Gary Player design in West Nyack, set among wooded hills, wetlands and fescue-edged fairways. The par-72 course uses elevation and changing ground conditions to create a modern parkland test with views toward the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline.
History: The course opened in 1998. Golf Digest records that Brian Silva and Geoffrey Cornish, with assistance from Stephen Kay, set the routing before Gary Player completed the design and construction, giving the course a broader design history than the short designer label suggests.
Did You Know? The downhill 17th is a signature point of the round: its wetland and deep bunker hazards make the green appear smaller than the yardage alone would suggest.
