Overview: Mangrove Bay Golf Course is an 18-hole public layout on 180 acres in northeast St. Petersburg. The par-72 course is listed at 6,656 yards from the black tees on the current official scorecard, with native habitat, water and USGA-modified Platinum Paspalum greens shaping the municipal course's playing environment. William W. Amick is credited as designer, with Gary Coates associated with later work.
History: Course records date Mangrove Bay to 1977. The City of St. Petersburg now operates it as part of a three-course municipal golf complex that also includes the nine-hole Cypress Links and Twin Brooks. The current facility combines the regulation course with a practice range, instruction and a clubhouse snack bar.
Did You Know? Mangrove Bay's current scorecard measures the black-tee layout at 6,656 yards, but the tee sheet also offers a 5,176-yard red course. That spread gives the same 18-hole routing two very different scales without changing its par of 72.
