Overview: Manele Golf Course occupies lava outcrops and high coastal ground above Hulopo'e Bay on Lānaʻi. Jack Nicklaus routed all eighteen holes to use the island's ravines, cliffs, native vegetation and ocean views, producing a resort course where target golf and natural land work together.
History: Manele opened in 1993 as a Jack Nicklaus design and became the golf course associated with Four Seasons Resort Lānaʻi. Nicklaus later returned to make modern adjustments while preserving the relationship between routing and lava landscape.
Did You Know? Three holes sit on cliffs above the Pacific, with the ocean functioning as a real hazard rather than a distant view. Archaeological features within the property were protected during development.
