Overview: Magnolia Plantation Golf Club is an 18-hole semi-private course in Lake Mary, north of Orlando. The back tees are listed at 7,175 yards for a par of 72. The parkland routing moves through the Wekiva River Basin with hardwoods, pines, native vegetation, rolling fairways, ravines and water on many holes, while tabletop and multi-tiered greens add another layer to the approach shots.
History: The course first opened for play in 2000 and was designed by David Harman. Foretee records a minor redesign by Tommy Fazio in 2005, preserving the distinction between the original designer and later work. The semi-private course was developed beside an upscale residential community and remains open to outside play according to current course records.
Did You Know? Water is reported on 15 holes at Magnolia Plantation, so the course's abundant forest and wildlife setting is matched by a nearly continuous need to plan around lakes and wetlands. The five par fives provide the best scoring opportunities in the published course description.
