Overview: Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club is a coastal links routing located on a narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and Tuggerah Lake. Designed by Ross Watson and opened in 2006, the course features classic links traits, including rolling sand dunes, deep bunkers, and firm fairways. Strong ocean winds frequently impact play, demanding shot control and a strategic ground game.
History: The course was built on the site of a former landfill and sand mining operation, requiring a massive ecological restoration to rebuild the native sand dune system. Watson routed the layout to provide ocean views from almost every hole. The course has consistently ranked among the top coastal courses in Australia since its opening.
Did You Know? The course is entirely grassed with Santa Ana couch on the fairways and bentgrass on the greens, which are irrigated using recycled water from the adjacent resort community.
