Overview: Situated across an open, rolling landscape near Aarhus, Lyngbygaard Golfklub is a contemporary championship course designed by Rick Baril of the firm von Hagge, Smelek and Baril. The layout features wide fairways framed by strategic sandy waste areas, deep sod-walled bunkers, and large, multi-tiered greens. The course combines parkland and links characteristics with minimal tree cover, forcing players to navigate the open, wind-exposed slopes with careful strategy.
History: Opened in 2008, Lyngbygaard was founded with the goal of introducing a modern, high-quality tournament venue to eastern Jutland. Baril, with contributions from Danish professional golfer Thomas Bjørn, sculpted the undulating terrain to create a strategic and visually striking layout that quickly established itself among Denmark's premier golf facilities.
Did You Know? The course features a specialized sand-based drainage and irrigation system that allows it to maintain firm, playable turf and remain open on summer greens even during wet Scandinavian shoulder seasons.
