Overview: Lycke Golfbana lies beside Tofta Herrgård north of Gothenburg, close enough to the coast for sea air and changing wind to shape the round. The 18-hole course combines seaside views with woodland and parkland sections, creating a varied landscape rather than a single architectural style. Generous greens offer room for different approaches, but water and natural edges punish a careless line. At par 71, Lycke is long enough for strong players while remaining playable for golfers who choose their targets carefully.
History: The course was developed from 2004 and opened in 2005, with further project additions recorded through 2015. Johan Henrikson led the course design and Helen Alfredsson participated as co-designer. Lycke gained an international profile when it hosted the Ladies European Tour’s Göteborg Masters in 2007, only a short time after the new course had opened.
Did You Know? Lycke’s second hole is described as a 130-metre short hole with an hourglass-shaped green. That small green complex is a good example of how the course uses design detail rather than just length to create interest.
