Overview: Los Inkas Golf Club is a private 18-hole parkland course in Monterrico, the Santiago de Surco district of Lima. The 57-hectare property sits inside the capital’s expanding urban landscape but retains broad, tree-lined playing corridors. The blue-tee scorecard measures 6,903 yards at par 72, with the course’s scale coming from a mixture of long par fours, water-influenced holes and carefully positioned green targets. Its Lima setting gives the club a distinctive contrast: a substantial country-club landscape within one of South America’s busiest metropolitan areas.
History: PROMPERU’s golf-tourism strategy dates construction to 1945 on the present 57-hectare site. A 2024 golfPerú feature, published by the Peruvian golf federation, identifies the Scottish designer Alexander MacDonald and gives 1948 as the construction date. Because those institutional sources disagree on the exact year, 1945 is retained for the production opening field and the discrepancy is made explicit here. Los Inkas has been closely connected with Peru’s national championship tradition and has hosted the Peru Open since 1982, later becoming a PGA TOUR Americas venue.
Did You Know? The tournament setup is not identical to the everyday blue-tee card. golfPerú described the 2024 Peru Open routing at 6,887 yards, while the course scorecard used for the standard field lists 6,903 yards. That small difference reflects tournament preparation and tee placement rather than a different course identity.
