Overview: Lodestone Golf Club occupies high ground above Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland, where a Hale Irwin Signature design follows the mountain terrain. The course reaches 7,507 yards from the longest tees and combines long views with forest, rock outcrops and bentgrass playing surfaces.
History: The course opened on June 5, 2010, after Hale Irwin and Todd Schoeder shaped the routing at Wisp Resort. Its setting above the lake and its deliberately rugged landforms are central to the course’s identity, rather than decorative additions.
Did You Know? The course sits in the mountains above Deep Creek Lake, and exposed rock is part of the architecture of several holes. That geological character gives Lodestone a markedly different feel from flatter Maryland layouts.
