Overview: Llandudno, also known as Maesdu, is an 18-hole course that blends parkland and links holes between Llandudno and Conwy. The par 72 layout measures about 6,545 yards and looks across Conwy Bay toward the Great Orme and Snowdonia. Gently rolling ground, varied greens and the coastal wind give the course a changing character rather than a single fixed style.
History: Maesdu Golf Club was founded in 1915, with James Braid designing the original course. The layout was extended by the club's first professional, Tom Jones, in 1924. The course later became a regular venue for professional and amateur events, including the Penfold Tournament and the first Professional Home International Series in 1938.
Did You Know? Four holes, including the opening and closing stretch, sit on the opposite side of Deganwy Road from the rest of the course. The road was only a path when the layout was created, so the unusual split is a historical result of how the surrounding land developed.
