Overview: Located in Linville, Linville Golf Club is a resort mountain course designed by Donald Ross. Set in a valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the layout features elevation changes, natural mountain streams, and views of Grandfather Mountain. The routing winds along the valley floor, requiring players to navigate sloped fairways and small, contoured greens.
History: Opened in 1926, the course was designed by Donald Ross to complement the Eseeola Lodge. Ross utilized the natural stream bed of Land Harbor Creek, incorporating it as a strategic hazard on multiple holes. The layout has remained structurally unchanged for nearly a century, preserving the classic mountain routing and traditional design elements.
Did You Know? The course is situated at an elevation of nearly three thousand feet, making it one of the highest designs in the state and providing cooler playing conditions during the summer.
