Overview: Links Hope Island is a links-style resort course situated on the Gold Coast of Queensland. Designed by Peter Thomson and Michael Wolveridge and opened in 1993, the course features classic links elements (such as pot bunkering, undulating fairways, and firm greens) adapted to a subtropical, water-rich setting.
History: Opened in 1993, the course was part of a major master-planned resort community. Five-time Open Champion Peter Thomson designed the layout to bring traditional British links strategies to the region, utilizing mounds and over a hundred pot bunkers.
Did You Know? The par-three seventeenth hole is the course's signature test, featuring a green that is completely surrounded by water on a peninsula, requiring a precise tee shot that must carry a large lake.
