Overview: Established in 1891, Limerick Golf Club (Ballyclough) is one of Ireland's oldest and most prestigious parkland courses. The layout is most famous for its 1927 redesign contribution by the legendary Alister MacKenzie, with later refinements by John D. Harris. Built on a bed of old red sandstone, the course is celebrated for its exceptional natural drainage and its classic, old-world character, featuring mature tree-lined fairways and technical, well-protected greens.
Did You Know? Limerick is a central hub for the Munster sporting community and has been a nursery for several of Ireland's most professional golfers. Its MacKenzie-influenced strategic principles are still clearly visible in the undulating green complexes, where thoughtful approach play is rewarded over the unpredictable and often subtle slopes that have challenged golfers for over a century.
