Overview: Lemon Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole private course in Englewood on Florida's southwest coast. The current course record lists par 71 and 6,264 yards, while the club describes a natural setting between Lemon Bay, Don Pedro Island, mangroves and the Buck and Lemon Creek corridors. Water, native vegetation and undulating playing surfaces give the course a coastal character.
History: The club was established by six founding members in 1989 around the former Lemon Bay Beach and Country Club course, originally laid out by Jim Petrides. Drew Rogers created the club's 2023 renovation after developing a master plan that addressed greens, bunkers and irrigation. The newer work updates the Petrides framework while preserving Lemon Bay's core-golf identity.
Did You Know? Lemon Bay is a fully Audubon Certified Cooperative Sanctuary and contains an eight-acre eagle preserve with a nesting pair of bald eagles. The club reports that young eagles have fledged there, making wildlife protection part of the course's identity.
