Overview: Flamingo Island at Lely Resort is an 18-hole public resort course in Naples designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The official scorecard lists a par of 72 and 7,095 yards from the championship tees. Sculpted fairways, white-sand bunkers, large undulating Bermuda greens and abundant water give the layout its bold South Florida character.
History: Flamingo Island opened to public play in 1989 as the Robert Trent Jones Sr. course at Lely Resort. It forms one half of the resort's 36-hole public golf offering, alongside the Lee Trevino-designed Mustang layout, while the separate Classics course remains a distinct private design. The Jones routing continues to be presented as a championship resort course.
Did You Know? The par-three fifth is the course's signature visual: its fairway is surrounded by water and the playing area is connected by two bridges. It is an unusually memorable island-style hole within a full-length par-72 layout.
