Overview: Legends Golf Club in Prior Lake is an 18-hole public course set across a wooded and marshy landscape near the Credit River. Garrett D. Gill and Paul Miller shaped the 7,126-yard, par-72 layout around a large central lake, smaller ponds, wetlands, creeks, and changes in elevation. Generous landing areas give golfers room to choose a line, while water and the large green complexes make the approach decision matter. The front and back nines have different visual characters, creating variety within one continuous course.
History: Legends Club opened in 2001 as a daily-fee championship course developed on a 360-acre site. The design became part of the Tradition Golf portfolio and was built to combine public play with a polished, destination-style presentation. Its National Golf Course of the Year recognition helped establish the course as one of the Twin Cities' better-known public layouts.
Did You Know? The course contains a 30-acre lake and a network of wetlands, ponds, and creeks that make the water system a design feature rather than a single hazard. Native plants and wildlife are part of the setting, while the fairways and links-style mounding give the course two contrasting architectural moods.
