Overview: Legacy Golf Links is a public Jack Nicklaus II course in Aberdeen, part of the Pinehurst and Southern Pines golf market. The layout uses rolling Sandhills terrain and a resort-friendly public format, making it a different proposition from the private clubs surrounding Pinehurst.
History: Nicklaus Design lists Legacy as opening in 1991. The course has remained associated with the Pinehurst area public-golf circuit, and contemporary Carolinas Golf Association material identifies Jack Nicklaus II as architect and the Aberdeen routing as an 18-hole course.
Did You Know? Legacy is one of the public courses most closely tied to the Aberdeen side of the Pinehurst golf region. Its name refers to this specific Nicklaus Design course, not to Pinewild's nearby Magnolia, Holly or Azalea routings.
