Overview: Le Sueur Country Club is a public-access 18-hole course in the Minnesota River Valley, where classic parkland corridors open toward broad valley views. The club describes the course as a community layout with generous fairways, fast greens and a long local history rather than a resort development. Its identity is built in stages: Ward Cosgrove created the original nine, and Joel Goldstrand designed the additional nine that brought the property to 18 holes. The result is a practical, scenic course whose strongest feature is its connection to the surrounding valley.
History: Le Sueur Country Club was established in 1926 as a nine-hole course associated with the Green Giant community and the local organizers who wanted a course near the Le Sueur Creek. The property expanded to 18 holes in the 1970s, with the new nine designed by Joel Goldstrand. Ward Cosgrove is credited with the original layout, while later work connected the older holes to the expanded course. The club's current presentation preserves that two-stage history and continues to describe the course as a public community facility.
Did You Know? The original nine was built beside Le Sueur Creek, while the later nine was designed by Joel Goldstrand. The course therefore contains two different development chapters within one 18-hole scorecard.
