Overview: Located high above the city within a spectacular alpine forest, Golf Club de Lausanne is one of Switzerland's most historic and beautiful parkland courses. The layout, originally designed by Donald Harradine, features gently undulating fairways lined by majestic centennial trees, including oaks, pines, and chestnuts. Players are treated to breathtaking, postcard-perfect views of Lake Geneva and the snow-capped French Alps, while the fast, modern greens and strategic bunkers offer a highly refined championship test.
History: Founded in 1921, the club opened its initial holes shortly after, expanding to a full 18-hole course in 1931 under Harradine's direction. In 1996, the course underwent a comprehensive modernization by Jeremy Pern, who completely rebuilt all 18 greens to modern standards and introduced strategic water hazards, while preserving the course's historic tree-lined character.
Did You Know? The club is highly committed to environmental conservation; it was one of the first in Switzerland to completely eliminate chemical pesticides and herbicides, relying entirely on organic turf management to maintain its pristine condition.
