Overview: Representing the technical expansion of one of Málaga’s most beloved golf destinations, the third 9-hole loop at Lauro Golf was masterfully designed by Mariano Benítez to complement the original Folco Nardi routing. Integrated into the existing par-72 complex near Alhaurín de la Torre, this extension elevates the resort to a 27-hole champion facility that winds through a rhythmic landscape of Mediterranean flora and challenging elevations. Like its predecessors, this loop is characterized by its strategic water hazards and tree-lined fairways that demand precise ball-striking and careful course management. The course offers a refreshing alternative to the traditional loops, providing unique perspectives over the Guadalhorce Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Did You Know? The expansion of Lauro Golf to 27 holes has made it a premier hub for technical training and high-capacity tournaments in the region. The course’s unique microclimate, created by its high density of citrus and cork trees, offers a cooler, more sheltered environment for play even during the height of the Andalusian summer. Part of the resort’s charm lies in its commitment to history; the entire complex is anchored by a century-old farmhouse courtyard, ensuring that every round concludes in an atmosphere of authentic Mediterranean heritage. Whether played as a dedicated loop or as part of a varied 18-hole combination, the Benítez-designed nine provides a crucial, strategic dimension to the Lauro experience.
