Overview: At Laurel Oak Country Club, the Jones Course is an 18-hole Rees Jones redesign in Sarasota. The current official scorecard lists par 72 and 6,934 yards from the black tees, with water, fairway bunkers, elevated green surrounds and a varied par sequence shaping the round. The course is the Rees Jones half of Laurel Oak's 36-hole private club.
History: The original West Course was reported as opening around 1990. Rees Jones completely redesigned and rebuilt the West Course's greens, tees, bunkers and fairway corridors. The Rees Jones project finished in 2005. The former West Course then took the Jones name. Rees Jones Inc. is working with the club on another comprehensive restoration plan in 2026.
Did You Know? After the 2005 redesign, the former West Course took the Jones name. The project was more than a cosmetic update, rebuilding the greens, tees and bunkers while reshaping the fairways from tee to green.
