Overview: Lassing Pointe Golf Course is Boone County's 18-hole public course in Union, Northern Kentucky. The Michael Hurdzan design is a modern championship layout that combines broad fairways with water hazards, bentgrass playing surfaces and large, memorable green complexes. At 6,724 yards and par 71, it is long enough to reward solid driving without becoming a one-dimensional test. The course is known for a strong finishing hole whose unusually long green can demand very different approach clubs depending on the flag position.
History: Lassing Pointe was developed from scratch by Boone County and opened for play on May 20, 1994. It was part of the county's expansion of a public golf system that also includes Boone Links. Dr. Michael Hurdzan's design quickly established the course as a leading public venue in Kentucky, and it has hosted important state and collegiate events. The county's golf operation continues to present Lassing Pointe as a championship facility built for both everyday play and tournament use.
Did You Know? Lassing Pointe's 18th green is one of its signature features: Golf Digest describes it as exceptionally large, while the course's own record lists a 63 set in the 1996 Kentucky Open. That combination of a memorable closing green and serious tournament history helps explain the course's long-standing reputation in Northern Kentucky.
