Overview: Las Vegas National Golf Course is a classic 18-hole public layout less than ten minutes from the Strip. Bert Stamps designed the par-71 course in a traditional style, with thousands of trees, strategically placed bunkers, a few water hazards and lush fairways that stand out against the surrounding Nevada desert. From the back tees it measures 6,815 yards, offering a full round that relies more on positioning and approach control than on dramatic elevation changes.
History: The course was designed and opened in 1961 and has carried a substantial part of Las Vegas golf history. It hosted events including the Tournament of Champions, the Sahara Invitational and the Las Vegas Invitational. In 1996, Tiger Woods played the course on his way to his first PGA Tour victory, giving the old layout a permanent connection to one of the city's most discussed golf stories.
Did You Know? The course was known for major professional events long before Las Vegas became a modern golf-resort destination. Its tree-lined fairways and compact traditional routing preserve a different era of the city, when championship golf was already part of the entertainment landscape but the desert had not yet been filled with resort corridors.
