History: Largo opened in 1969 as a municipal executive course. Ward Northrup is credited with the design and with the early-2007 renovation that installed USGA-standard greens. City planning material describes the facility as an important local recreation asset and records strong community support for keeping the 18-hole course in place.
Did You Know? The thirteenth hole is a 152-yard par three with a large palm tree in the middle of the putting surface. That unusual obstacle is the course's most recognizable piece of visual architecture.
