Overview: Lakewood Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course on Maharlika Highway in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. Published scorecards list 6,114 yards from the gold tees, with shorter blue, white and red options. Nelson & Haworth are credited with the design, and the routing uses the broad agricultural landscape around Cabanatuan rather than a steep mountain site. The mix of tree-lined corridors, water and changing approach angles gives the course enough variety for a complete round without relying on extreme elevation.
History: Independent course records date Lakewood’s full course to 2005. It was developed as a modern golf and country club for the Nueva Ecija area, creating a destination between the larger golf markets of Metro Manila and Central Luzon. The National Golf Association of the Philippines lists the club and public walk-ins, while the current scorecard sources preserve the Nelson & Haworth design credit and separate the course’s four principal tee distances.
Did You Know? Lakewood’s scorecard is built around a balanced par-72 pattern, with the first nine and second nine each listed at par 36. The course’s longest holes are not isolated from the rest of the strategy: several par 5s demand a choice between advancing aggressively and leaving a comfortable angle for the third shot. That balance is part of why the course works as a full-day Central Luzon golf stop rather than only a local practice venue.
