Overview: Lakewood Country Club’s 18-hole course in Westlake, Ohio, is a private A.W. Tillinghast design. The club identifies it as Ohio’s only original A.W. Tillinghast design and says its historic architecture was restored in 2024.
History: Lakewood Country Club was established in 1921, with the original golf course designed by Tillinghast. Current work aims to keep that architectural identity while updating course conditions.
Did You Know? The Westlake club is distinct from similarly named Lakewood courses in other states, and its official site ties the Ohio course to Tillinghast.
